$GODS and token withdrawals from Immutable X

With the first week of the Blessing of the GODS event coming to an end, $GODS rewards will be coming in hot and heavy. How does it work? Five days after the completion of the weekly event, you’ll be eligible to claim the rewards from your first week of participation. Once claimed, they’ll be moved into your Immutable X inventory. 

The real question is: what should you do with your newfound tokens? At a base-level, there are two options here: 

Option 1: Hold $GODS in Immutable X

Keeping these tokens in Immutable X will allow you to take part in the $GODS ecosystem as it unfurls. $GODS was created to become the core currency of Gods Unchained, making it the key to discovering some of the game’s prime features.

This includes actions such as fusing cards together to make new NFTs in the Forge, staking rewards, and more coming soon. $GODS are becoming a core part of the play to earn ecosystem, and having $GODS in your Immutable X account will allow you to participate in Gods Unchained activities.

Option 2: Withdraw $GODS to Ethereum mainnet

 If you wish to withdraw your $GODS tokens to Ethereum mainnet for use elsewhere, there are a few things to keep in mind:

1. Once a token is set to be withdrawn from Immutable X, it can take up to 24 hours to prepare. Once this process is initiated, it cannot be undone – meaning the token must be completely withdrawn from Immutable X and won’t be usable on the platform unless you decide to transfer it back on. 
2. Secondly, when your withdrawal is marked as ready and you want to bridge your assets from Immutable X to Ethereum mainnet, gas fees apply! These are the transfer fees of Ethereum, and as your items are moving off Immutable X (where there are no gas fees) and onto Ethereum (where there are), these must be paid. 

When you’ve reached this stage of the process, a popup will indicate an estimated gas transaction fee. After accepting this, your tokens will begin their journey to mainnet. Gas fees vary drastically, depending on the nature of Ethereum’s ecosystem at the time, so make sure you are aware of this before deciding to withdraw your $GODS. You will need an adequate amount of ETH in your Ethereum mainnet wallet to accommodate for this gas fee. If you don’t have the necessary funds, the transaction will fail, and the tokens will be held until you are able to cover Ethereum’s gas fee.
