GUApe here. I'm the new Growth Lead for Gods Unchained, awesome to meet you, and I come bearing some incredible news: You don't have to be a rat anymore!
That's right, it’s been a long time coming, but today I’m happy to announce that we are releasing Avatars as part of an update to the progression system in Gods Unchained. Avatars are immediately available on desktop, and will be on mobile later in Q3 of 2024.
For some of you, maybe you want to remain pseudonymous, as a rat. That’s perfectly fine, it’s a cute rat. For the other mortals who have been waiting (forever) to change up their PFPs, and show off their prized cards, a cute rat just doesn’t quite hit the mark.
For this release, all players will be able to update their profile with an avatar and frame.
To equip an avatar, it’ll just take you a few clicks:
- On the dashboard, locate your profile icon on the top right. Click on it, and navigate to the Avatar Customization window.
- You’ll be presented with your options - navigate to your desired card. Click on it to select the avatar and frame you wish to display.
In order to select an avatar, you must own the corresponding card. For example:
- I own a copy of Thaeriel, The Fallen (any quality), so I can equip that card as an avatar.
- I sell my last copy of Thaeriel, The Fallen,my avatar returns to the default Rat.
It’s that simple.
Your avatar's frame corresponds to the selected card's shine. For example:
- Equipping a Meteorite Thaeriel will display a Meteorite Shine Frame for the Thaeriel Avatar.
- Equipping a Diamond Thaeriel will display a Diamond Shine Frame for the Thaeriel Avatar.
As a note, all avatars and frames are non-tradable and non-collectible. They are a representation of the cards that you own. If you sell/trade the card, you lose the corresponding avatar/frame (unless you own multiple copies of the same card).
