Hi Mortals! Welcome to your next developer update. Today we will cover progress on the new formats release, updates to Daily Play and Earn system, anti-bot improvements, and the new (and long overdue) profile avatar image selection feature!

#1 Daily Play & Earn (DPE)

Daily Play & Earn has been one of our biggest Play to Earn features in the Gods Unchained ecosystem (hence the name!). It has allowed all players to earn and receive $GODS tokens just for winning in their first 10 matches each day. But since its release it's had little to no attention. The game designers have been working hard with the engineering team to crack open the DPE system completely, now allowing the Gods Unchained Team to change how DPE rewards players periodically. So what does this mean for players?

• Chosen formats will be able to increase your DPE earnings (i.e. 1.5x or 2x your Fragments for those matches)
• There will be a chance to increase DPE earnings by playing extra matches in chosen formats (i.e. 10 standard matches + 2 extra matches in Block Constructed that will add additional Fragments)
• The Arena screen and DPE screens will be updated to include visual aids to help you identify which of the chosen Formats will help you earn the most Fragments.

Plus many more minor improvements that will make DPE much more enjoyable! Once again, the Game Design and Engineering teams are incredibly proud to release this major update to DPE, so keep your eyes out over the next few weeks for the new DPE drop.

#2 Fighting Bots!

Bots have always been an issue in any game, Web2 and Web3. As technology only ever gets better over time, the Gods Unchained team has decided to invest in taking significant steps in improving our systems to not only identify bots and botted accounts, but also make it incredibly difficult for bots to earn rewards if they manage to interact with the Gods Unchained experience. Some interesting stats we can share:

• We have identified and banned close to 4,000 suspected bot/multi-accounting users in 2024 alone
• Over 1,000 of those were related to the recent wave of War Bots

The Engineering team has been working closely with the Data team through this process and will continuously release improvements over the coming months.

#3 Bye Bye Rats (Profile Avatar Images)

That’s right, the engineering and design team have been working closely to finally bring you the ability to change your profile avatar image based on what cards you own! You can show off not only your card image but also your card's Shine as well. Profile images will be visible when logged into the website, the launcher and in the game.
